Scripture for the day...

"Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few." {Ecclesiastes 5:2 KJV}

Certainly we should be praying to God through out the day each day. All matters should be brought before Him as His Word testifies.
Yet... we must be sober, humble; having self control of our thoughts and words... We are speaking to our Creator, the sovereign of the universe.

Also, even when simply living out our daily lives we must continue to control our thoughts and words as these too are heard by our heavenly Father.
{Matthew 12:37; James 1:26; Hebrews 4:13}

Scripture for the day...

"But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world."
{Galatians 6:14 KJV}

Amen!

Is religion a personal thing?

"Keep your religion to yourself!"

"Never discuss religion or politics..."

"Religion is a personal thing."

As believers we MUST speak up for Y'shua. We MUST preach for people to repent and be saved.
Y'shua preached "Repent! For the kingdom of heaven is at hand." {Matthew 4:17 KJV} We too are told "...Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." {Mark 16:15,16 KJV}
"...he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." {John 3:36 KJV}
If we don't preach, others can not be saved from the damnation Christ warns about, and WE will be held guilty for withholding the truth. {Ezekiel 33:8}

The Scriptures warn of who will not be entering the kingdom...
Fornicators (unmarried sex), idolaters (having anything more important than God), adulterers, effeminate (men that wear women's clothing, act feminine), abusers of themselves with mankind (homosexuals), thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers (talk abusively about someone), extortioners, fearful (faithless), unbelieving, abominable (Scripture mentions many items and activities that God finds abominable), murders (abortion is murder), whore mongers (female prostitute), sorcerers (drug users), liars, dogs (male prostitute). {1 Corinthians 6:9,10; Revelation 21:8; 22:15}

Christians have a responsibility to preach, just as Christ did "Repent, believe and be baptized." {Matthew 4:17, Mark 16:15,16} It will not make us popular {please see Matthew 10:22}nor "politically correct" and it definitely will not be easy, but it is our commission.

We will be held responsible for their continued guilt if we do not share the kingdom message with them. {Ezekiel 33:8}

Trust in YHWH

"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" {Jeremiah 17:9 KJV}

God tells us our own heart is DECEITFUL and desperately WICKED. What comes from the heart? Certainly our desires and emotions. Warning to self, with everlasting life in view, my heart can NOT be trusted.

Of my desires the adversary is well aware.
Trusting in, being guided by my emotions is bait for the serpant to bite.

Instead, I need to take a step back; praying and inquiring of YHWH in his Holy Word.

"Trust in YHWH with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." {Proverbs 3:5 KJV}

"...Thy Word is truth." {John17:17 KVJ}

"And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM:" {Exodus 3:14}
Y'shua identifies himself as God, I AM...
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM." {John 8:58}

The I AM's of Y'shua help define Y'shua for us.

"The bread of life" {John 6:35}
"The light of the world" {John 8:12}
"The door" {John 10:9}
"The good shepard" {John 10:11}
"The resurrection and the life" {John 11:25}
"The way, the truth and the life" {John 14:6}
"The true vine" {John 15:1}

We must fellowship day in and day out with Christ. He is the only hope for mankind, we cannot buy or earn or own way. He is "the way", the ONLY way!

Scripture for the day September 19, 2010

"Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God." {1 Corinthians 2:12 KJV}

Thank you our friend Pastor Brian for baptising Kathy and myself!

By sevens, by two...

My children were participating in a Sunday school lesson some time back. The teacher is the wife of our Pastor friend. She decided to teach a little bit about Noah and the ark right from Genesis.
In chapter 7 it was read that "by sevens" of every clean animal was brought into the ark, unclean animals "by two".
My beautiful wife Kathy pipes up and asks the kids about the clean animals, of which one correctly answers "For food!"
Kathy and the kids are able to recognize some truths that most Christians will miss. They have learned YHWH's standards of do's and dont's.

God's laws existed long before Moses day.
Sabbath (7th day) was established at creation {Genesis 2:1-3}.
Noah knew clean from unclean animals, clean being for food and sacrifices {Genesis 6:21,7:2,8:20}.
Abraham kept YHWH's laws {Genesis 26:5}.
Joseph clearly feared and obeyed YHWH {Genesis 39:9}.

Although changed and challenged by almost all churches today {Daniel 7:25}... God's laws (instructions, standards, commands, likes/dislikes) remain as long as Heaven and Earth exist.
{Malachi 3:6, Matthew 5:18, 1 John 3:4}

Only the death of our saviour Y'shua can give us the free gift of eternal life! Observing the laws Moses recorded will NOT earn us salvation.

Yet, the "Christian freedom of grace" that allows us to shop on Saturdays and enjoy ham dinners and chocolate bunnies on Easter truly tells YHWH quite loudly: "Not you YHWH... I will choose for myself, right from wrong, or... the church tells me so; everybody does xyz"
{1 John 3:4, Romans 6:15, John 15:19.}

I am very proud of Kathy and our children. My family does recognize and they are obedient to YHWH's standards.
Now my responsibility is to create in them a whole souled love for YHWH that leads them to obey Him.
To date I have only suceeded in teaching them what the rules are. They are obedient to me. They do not yet understand WHY we keep Saturday as our day of worship and family time (seperate/holy).
It is a love for YHWH and his Son that must be established deep in their hearts. And as many other people as possible.
It is this love that produces obedience.
It is this love that IS the New Covenant!
{1 John 5:3, Hebrews 10:16.}

These following Scriptures were written for our day and forward...

"Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the Sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil... Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve Him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants every one that keepeth the Sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;" {Isaiah 56:2,6 KJV.}

"This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;" {Hebrews 10:16 KJV.}

"Here is the patience (endurance) of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus (Y'shua)." {Revelation 14:12 KJV.}

"Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." {Revelation 22:14 KJV.}

Kathy, I want you and all of our children, our family, all that will listen to eat from THAT tree!

Scripture for the Day

"This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." {Acts 4:11,12. KJV}

Y'shua (Jesus) is the foundation of our faith. Only in the last year have we come to a proper understanding of "who" He is. The gospel of John has painted for us a clear picture of the deity of God's only begotten son. {John 1:1 KJV}

Scripture for the day...

{John 1:1 NKJV} In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.

What the feasts of YHWH mean to my family. Part one; Passover & Unleavened bread.

The first festival of the biblical year is Passover {Exodus 12:1-14, 20-29}. This night is a time of remembrance of Israels redemption from the death of the first born. The command to observe and teach the Passover is forever {Exodus 12:24}.
The blood of the lamb placed on the doorposts and the lintel told YHWH that this household had accepted his provision for life and YHWH's spirit 'passed over' them.
Passover is completely fulfilled in Y'shua's sacrifice {1 Corinthians 5:7}. We are again commanded to observe this night by Y'shua {Luke 22:19} in its awesome fulfillment as Y'shua offers his body and blood. By eating the bread and wine which represent the Christ, we are accepting him, acknowledging his perfect sacrifice on OUR behalf so that death may "pass us over" {John 6:54}.
Clearly seeing the Passover's fulfillment in the Christ, What can we gain by observing the days of Unleavened bread?
1. Leaven represents sin {1 Corinthians 5:6}. The unleavened bread represents Christs sinless body.
Christ preached..."Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!" {Matthew 4:17} Therefore let us remove the sin from our lives. Day to day activities cloud the Kingdom priority and these eight days take a special effort and acknowledgement to avoid sin (leaven). Essentially a "poke in the chest" reminding us we have some cleaning up to do {Matthew 5:48}.
2. In ancient Egypt the Israelites were commanded to eat in haste {Exodus 12:11,31}. There was NO TIME to allow the bread to rise or add sourdough (leaven) to the mix {Exodus 12:34,39}.
More so today with the coming tribulation at hand we are commanded to be awake and prepared {Matthew 24,25}. There is NO TIME, we need to heed the Masters instructions.

Lord's Memorial Supper

March 30th, 2010; Tuesday night is the anniversary of our Lord's Supper.
Y'shua celebrated Passover with his disciples, the bread and wine symbolizing Christ's flesh and blood given that we may attain life everlasting.
The following day, also Passover, is the anniversary of Christ's sacrifice and burial.
After Three more days Y'shua was resurrected to life.

"I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world." {John 6:51 NKJV}

And He took the bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me."
Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the New Covenant in My blood, which is shed for you."
{Luke 22:19,20 NKJV}

For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes. {1 Corinthians 11:26 NKJV}

Scripture for the day...

And without controversy great is the mystery of Godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory. {1 Timothy 3:16, NKJV}
